Tags: demon, identity, world-boss, proof-audited.
Appearance: tall black silhouettes wearing stolen voices, with blank faces that briefly show the victim's most trusted person. Their edges look like ink in water, and written names curl or fade when they pass.
Threat tier: boss alone, city-ending inside an archive, and world-boss if released into a capital registry, temple genealogy vault, or Moonmere root archive.
Origin: Name-Eaters are abyssal demons born from command without identity. They do not begin by killing bodies. They first remove the social fact that a person existed.
Behavior: they eat names from records, songs, carved stones, memory, witness testimony, family habits, and nicknames. Victims become difficult to describe, then legally inconvenient, then emotionally unreachable, then physically vulnerable.
