Core myth: the First Light was not a weapon found by one chosen people. It was a covenant created when different peoples refused the Abyssal Crown's offer of easy command. The Seven Saints are remembered as the mortal shapes of that refusal.
Suppressed complexity: the Temple often paints the saints as human for political unity, but older hymns name an elf memory-keeper, a dwarf bridge-maker, an orc boundary singer, a dragon-touched child, a halfling guide, a human queen, and a nameless penitent who had once served the Abyss.
Saint of Mercy: associated with healing enemies, prisoner witness, and the refusal to let justice become appetite. Her relics answer poorly to revenge disguised as law.
Saint of Craft: associated with bridges, tools, repaired gates, and the belief that matter remembers care. Dwarven clans argue that many temple versions erase his clan name to claim his relics.
