Empty harvest armor animated by unlawful grain seizure and broken village witness.
Updated
Tags: undead, grain, sunfields, proof-audited.
Appearance: rusted mail packed with straw, wheat roots, mouse bones, and tax ribbons. Their helmets are empty except for a candle-glow where a witness seal should be.
Threat tier: common as a single barn guard, elite in a manor tithe yard, and regional if many villages were stripped during a succession levy.
Origin: they rise where soldiers, knights, or tax officers took grain without proper witness, leaving villages alive but legally unable to prove theft before winter.
Behavior: they patrol barns, granaries, toll wagons, and manor roads. They attack thieves, but their definition of thief may include hungry villagers reclaiming their own grain without the right seal.
