Blackroot prison echoes that enforce confessions the living courts buried.
Updated
Tags: dungeon, blackroot, boss, proof-audited.
Appearance: bark-bodied jailers wearing root masks shaped like old human faces, with iron keys grown through their fingers and mossy prisoner tags hanging from their throats.
Threat tier: elite as a single corridor warden, boss when guarding a confession court, and dungeon-regional if Blackroot grows an entire prison wing around an unspoken crime.
Origin: they are echoes of imperial wardens swallowed by Moonmere roots after the prison disappeared. Some were cruel jailers, some tried to record truth, and the dungeon does not always distinguish them kindly.
Behavior: they demand motive, not passwords. They open cells for honest prisoners and seal doors on adventurers who lie about treasure, rescue, politics, or guilt.
