An abandoned toll shelter on the Old Auric Road where unpaid debts, missing witnesses, and hungry mimic ecology turn travel into investigation.

Public role: the South Road Tollhouse is a small dungeon location built for early road fantasy. It is not a grand ruin. Its danger comes from ordinary travel systems failing: tolls, shelter, ledgers, guest-right, and the assumption that a door is only a door.
Appearance: a leaning stone booth, split timber roof, rain-black toll board, half-buried axle ruts, an old soup hearth, a sealed clerk room, and road signs nailed over older signs that no one admits replacing.
Known rumors: caravans report missing coins, vanished guides, wrong footprints, and doors that seem closer on the way out than on the way in. Locals say the ruin is safe if travelers do not lie about why they are on the road.
Linked threat: Tollhouse Mimics imitate practical objects rather than treasure. Benches, ledgers, soup pots, stair boards, shutters, cloak hooks, and confession doors are more dangerous than gold chests here.
